Princ Charles (72) musel potláčať slzy pri obhliadke kvetov, ktorými si britský ľud uctil pamiatku zosnulého princa Philipa (†99). Celá situácia ho neuveriteľne dojala.
Spoločnosť mu robila manželka Camilla a obaja boli viditeľne dojatí záplavou kvetov od smútiacich Britov. Princ z Walesu mal slzy na krajíčku, keď si prečítal kondolencie, špeciálne však potom, ako zbadal hračku v podobe Land Roveru, obľúbeného automobilu princa Philipa, ktorý ma v sobotu počas pohrebu viesť jeho rakvu.
„Dnes princ z Walesu s vojvodkyňou z Cornwallu navštívili záhrady u Marlborough House, aby si pozreli kvetiny zanechané verejnosťou na počesť pamiatky vojvodu z Edinburgu. Kráľovské parky sem budú naďalej premiestňovať kvetiny a kondolencie do doby štátneho smútku. Záhrady u Marlborough House boli vybrané, aby sa davy nezdržiavali pred budovou paláca v priebehu pandémie koronavírusu,“ uviedol hovorca Clerence House.

Princ Philip zomrel 9. apríla v ranných hodinách vo veku 99 rokov. Jeho pohreb prebehne túto sobotu (18.4.) vo Windsore, vzhľadom k aktuálnej pandémií ale bude priebeh pohrebu komorný.
